Hi,

Well the year is almost at an end, Santa Claus has begun his flight, just so you are aware I have requested Shustokes present on your behalf……. Water Please Santa !

Seriously though to keep you informed the water is an  issue that your Committee cannot really do very much to influence. But we do have one or two people who have STW contacts including a STW employee, they have spoken to STW and  there has been a number of reasons why the reservoir water level has ended up so low, the water board will put more back into the reservoir as soon as they can. I am sure the New Year will see a slowly improving situation.

Whats On:-

The Mirror National Squad are using Shustoke SC for 4 different weekend training sessions, please make them feel welcomed, lets show them what a great club we have It is great that they wanted to come and use our Club for their training, This follows on from the Optimist Zone Squad who are also  using Shustoke SC for training weekends. They are all very welcome.

A date for your diary, Saturday January 14th  is Prize Giving Day, The Prize Giving will begin at 17.00 after sailing and there will be a Curry at 18.30 made by a “Top” Chef only £6 too. Whether you have won a prize or not, do try to attend this event it’s a great social event as well as awarding prizes, it’s an ideal   time for a catch up. Prize Giving  is an important element of any sailing club so please do try to get down to the club even if you have not won anything this time,  your support and enthusiasm will be greatly appreciated.

We have heard that Lesley Dransfield is not feeling too well at the moment, Our heartfelt wishes for an early return to wellness go out to Lesley, Get Well soon Lesley.

There has been some discussion about our Web Site, some of the members feel it is letting us down a little, well that may be the case but a Web Site can only be as good as the Information that is put into it, that needs You !   yes all of us can help to improve our Web Site, John Dransfield and his Son Nick, who have been running  our Web Site  for some time and  have been doing a first class job are at the end of an email address website@shustokesailingclub.co.uk  please if you have anything that you feel the Web Site needs to portray, or you have a report on events etc that club members have been involved with, then do  let John Dransfield know. If you are away at an event, take pictures then send them in to John, he can only put up on the site things that we  all inform him about. We all need to help with Communication.

Thanks to all of you for supporting our Galley over the year Judith and the Team have been doing great food  looking after our members really well,  hopefully  in the New Year a few more  people may like to help out and add their names to the Galley Rota.

Starting in the New Year I plan to have a Daily Results Board placed in the OD’s Box, so that everyone can see their results on the day. Also I will be ensuring that a running series results sheet if up on the wall in the clubhouse, and I will also try to ensure that there is a far better communication stream out to us all.

There is lots going on so  please try to come on down to the club more often and you too can enjoy  our great facilities and our friendly  members.  Shustoke is a great club it’s your club so do come on down and help make It even better.

Here’s hoping you Have a  Happy XmasA Great New Year
